Forest Chaput de Saintonge is a Montana-based photography educator and software expert. As the founder of Everlight Education and the former Director of Rocky Mountain School of Photography, Forest has spent over two decades making technical workflows accessible to everyone.
He has helped more than 150,000 creators move from digital chaos to confident library management through his YouTube channel and deep-dive courses.
Whether he is consulting on the next generation of AI tools or teaching a student how to find a lost file, Forest's mission remains the same: Making the technical side of photography accessible to everyone.
Sarah is our designer and creative sounding board at Everlight Education. With a BA in photojournalism and a decade of experience as the Assistant Director and Marketing Director at Rocky Mountain School of Photography, she has spent her career helping photographers navigate their creative paths with confidence.
At Everlight, Sarah focuses her expertise on graphic and web design for the business, occasional teaching or coaching, and ensuring members have a supportive environment to refine their workflows and find inspiration. She is passionate about helping people trust their own abilities, overcome creative hurdles, and discover their best path forward.

The “Mastering Lightroom Organization” course narrated by Forest Chaput de Saintonge, was awesome, just what I needed.
Ever since I started shooting with digital (ya, I once did film which seems quaint today!), I amassed a ton of photos (probably like most photographers now) and soon had a mess. I saw the organization course and was soon immersed in “how to”.
Forest has a great way of presenting the material. His step-by-step instructions along with the video of what he is doing on his computer makes understanding the process logical and straightforward.
I did not know about key words and thanks to Forest I now add key words to the metadata, which makes for great organization.

The only people who know more than Forest about Photoshop are the devs themselves. The way in which he goes beyond the steps of a process to break it down and make it easy to grasp is incredible. I can tell that Forest more than "knows" about this space; he lives it and deeply understands it. They have both helped me in a variety of ways over about a dozen years, ever since this committed film photographer was lured into the digital world.
I have enjoyed and learned a lot from short courses taught live by Forest, as well as his YouTube videos. But Sarah has been especially helpful both by introducing me to Lightroom and by solving technical challenges.
One episode stands out. My Lightroom program once encountered a major problem after an update: the program could not retrieve images from the catalog. I worked with Adobe customer service agents on three different occasions, but none was able to resolve the problem, even while sharing my screen. Then I called Sarah. The problem proved a bit of a conundrum even for her, but her unquestioned expertise, persistence, and patience paid off. Solving the issue required a number of email exchanges, two Zoom calls with screen sharing, and two personal visits to my home.
